Just receive the e-mail today from Pearl Village Hotel, Phuket on Nai Yang beach. They inform that The Pearl Village owners have decided that they are going to redevelop and
expand the hotel into a new amazing property of a very high standard.

This is some part of the e-mail.

"This re-creation of Pearl Village will take place from first week of March 2006 until 15 October 2006 and we, therefore, would like to inform you herewith, that the hotel will be unfortunately closed for sale during this period."

Phuket hotels need more than 6,500 staff

Phuket’s service industries – hotels in particular – have many job openings available, the head of Phuket Provincial Employment Service Office (PESO), Boonchock Maneechot, has revealed.

K. Boonchock concluded, “After the tsunami, many hotel employees found new jobs [in different sectors]. However, there is room once again for more hotel and tourism staff in the upcoming high season.”

At the fair, 35 businesses also set up indoor booths for potential entrepreneurs, with booths providing training in arts and crafts such as soap carving, batik production and Thai cuisine.
