If you thing that all Japanese are the same uptight workaholics then in Harajuku you will see a totally different Japan, it may be very colorful and very gothic at the same time. In resent years it became the young people's town, which is specially crowded on weekends.

Although you can see the change in the cloths during the weekend all over Tokyo, less suits and more jeans, still it will not prepare you for the Harajuku boys and girls. You will see what I mean the second you get to Harajuku JR station or Meiji-jingumae station of Tokyo Metro.

Harajuku Girls definitely got a wicked style, just like Gwen Stefani says in her song, here you can see all hair colors and all the weird cloth you can only imagine, and don’t you think these cloth are cheap – enter some of the shops on the Takeshita-dori and you will see that these girls spend pretty big amounts of money to look like this.
