WWOOF at Jangheung - Part 2

This was from 26th - 30th October in Jangheung.
Jangheung is located in southern part of South Korea, in between Mokpo and Boseong.
The weather was still warm and autumn has not reached the city yet.

Jangheung was so foggy in the morning. This was around 7.30 am. I normally took a 30 minutes walk around the school before going for breakfast with Mr Han. I slept in this abandoned school for 4 nights - ALONE. Hehehe..pretty scared nonetheless.

Another beautiful morning..

I passed by this bus stop every morning.

Cosmos flower and straw bale.

Falling leaves turned yellow in autumn.

That is chestnut..yeap. Yummy...I ate it raw after peeling the thorny cover.

Eat this everyday.

Having a picnic beside the family grave. It wasn't scary at all!

Kukhwa flower festival. The day was so hot. I played with Nikon D80 - Annalee's husband's toy.

The couple that I have learned so much from. They always support, praise and motivate each other which I found it amazing after a 27 years marriage. Hmm..it's rare nowadays.

The process was so delicate and the taste was amazing!

It snowed too early!!

Cold...so we took a 30 minute bus ride.

Tut and Hanim trembling near Han River..Ottokke!!

Autumn was so short and we didn't expect that Gangwon-do to snow too early. The temperature ranged in between 2 and -2 celcius. People scrambled Myeongdong to shop for winter clothes. We were duly shocked too cause were not prepared with proper attire for winter. Most of the times we butted into shopping complexes to replenish the body heat.

WWOOF at Jangheung - Part 1

They served me persimmon and tteok from organic green rice.

This was my third Jaesa dinner in a month!!

The kimchi was a bit salty.

Mr Han's aunty and her grandchildren.

Jangheung is famous for rice and cow. Korean cow is called hanu which is the best breed. Mr Han feeds them with rice, kiwi, persimmon, wheat and corn straw.

The organic green rice as their food. They are really pampered.

Mr Han and his youngest brother. He's working at Seocho-ku, near Gangnam.

Later, we went to Naju for agriculture festival.

and helped to cut this green rice tteok. Yummy..

Annabelle unni, married to a Korean man and has 3 girls. Her husband and her are so kind to bring me around for the Flower festival and treated me for Maeuntang dinner.
