Patong to host jet-ski competition

The Phuket island’s first jet-ski racing competition will be held in Patong Bay on December 10 and 11, Vice-Governor Niran Kalayanamit announced today.

Some 500 competitors from 40 countries are expected to take part in the event.

Because Le Vimarn Cottage is located on the Western Coast of Koh Samet, the nearest place for them is Ao Prao PADI of Ao Prao Resort. There is PADI Open Water Diver course for the beginner as well.

When to Dive ?

From November - February is recommended. For other period may be bad vissibility.

Early Warning System and Tsunami Evacuation Drills in Patong Beach in Phuket Complete

The Thai cabinet unanimously approved a proposal for the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Ministry of Interior, to formulate a systematic evacuation plan for communities in the six coastal province along Thailand’s Andaman coast. The evacuation plan provides for the announcement of the plan and periodic drilling to be conducted.

In a pilot project, an early warning system has been installed at three strategic points along Patong Beach, Phuket.
