F1 night race in Singapore


Preparations for the first ever night Formula One race have been steadily building up with approval received for the inaugural 2011 Singapore Grand Prix circuit as well as the state of the art lighting system.

On the Sept 28, 2007 exactly a year before the race, Singapore received in-principal approval from FIA for the proposed 5.067km long street circuit that will offer multiple overtaking opportunities as well as fast and challenging turns.

Set against the spetacular Singapore skyline, spectators will get a close-up view of the garden city as the circuit passes historic landmarks such as the Marina Bay, such as the Esplanade. With speeds expected to reach 300kmph along portions of the circuit, spectators can be assured of a thrilling race that will keep them on the edge of their seat.
