I'm heartbroken..

As always, what you plan is NOT what you get. T__T . I'm heartbroken.

Shall we sing GDragon's tune?

"H1N1..Yo ma heart heart heart heart heart breaker
What did I do wrong
Yo ma heart heart heart heart heart breaker
No way no way"

Aigoo..
H1N1 force is so strong that it made Korean finally call it quits or even postpone some of the major festivals. I have meticulously plan my trip and book my board near the festivals' locations namely Gwangju Kimchi Festival, Chungjangno Festival, Photonic Expo and etc.

I have been warned by people dearest to me about H1N1 but I just couldn't believe it!!
Why..oh why..I really need a box of Kleenex.
Mom, I really want to go to that Kimchi Festival!!

Brian in Jeollanam-do has all the gory details about the cancellation.

Precaution for H1N1 in Korea

My family has been bugging me to stop traveling due to H1N1 pandemic but I just wouldn't budge. The stubborn me. ^^

I am worried! Who says I'm not?

I must take some precaution before I go.

Those travelers like me that still want to travel to Korea but worried about the virus, here are some necessary info to help you if it really happen. Touch wood!

1. Wash your hands frequently especially after visiting crowded places.

2. Make sure to cover your nose and mouth with a tissue, handkerchief or your clothes when you cough.

3. If you develop symptoms like a cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, wear a mask and contact your tour guide for information on the nearest hospitals or state-designated clinics where you can receive the proper medical treatment.

4. Patients with chronic diseases (including lung diseases, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, kidney disease, and liver disease), pregnant women, the elderly over 65, and babies under 59 months are especially vulnerable to influenza A. If they show signs of fever or respiratory symptoms, take them to nearby hospitals or state-designated clinics to get further medical care.

5. If you experience fever or respiratory symptoms, avoid crowded places and get proper medical care.

Contact no:

1339 (Emergency Medical Information Center)
- Available in English, Japanese and Chinese 24/7
- Consults on symptoms of Influenza A and provides information and guidance on the nearest hospital that provides service in your language.

129 (call center run by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Family Affairs)
- Partial English and Japanese service available
- Consults on symptoms, provides information and guidance on the nearest hospitals for travelers

1330 (Korea Travel Hotline)
- Available in English, Japanese and Chinese 24/7
- Provides information on nearby hospitals or state-designated clinics where you can receive treatment.

Note: Costs incurred other than the anti-virus medicine will need to be covered by patients themselves.

H1N1 and death

This pandemic really freaks me out! But my travel plan has been done even before this occurred. Parents, friends and even my cat, Naruto has voiced his concern. Naruto said "Why are you not afraid of H1N1 but you are afraid of ghosts and scary movies?" Heck..if only Naruto could speak, hehe.

As of now, the death count in Malaysia is 51.

My precaution:

1. Be healthy, be healthy, be healthy - enough sleep, no emotional interference, no JUNK FOOD? No!! Exercise? Hmmm.. I am wearing a mask right now in the office. How do I look? Do I look like optimus prime? ;)

2. Get a travel insurance - I'm going to get the HSBC one just because all my accounts are there. Easier. I already have an annual one but to be on the safe side, to get an extra travel insurance cause hospital bill would be sky-high if I am ever admitted overseas.

3. Write a will - Ack! Am I dying? H1N1 death is at such an alarming rate and without a proper antidote, betcha I will write a will. The worst I had seen in the news was this 12 year old child died in one day because of it.

Why travel solo? Isn't it dangerous for a lady?

These 2 questions has been asked zillions of time even though I don't know how zillions looks like. (I told you, I failed Maths..haha). Well, traveling solo seems always pretty dangerous for ladies but mate, you have to count your risk like 1,2,3..bla bla..before you even start thinking about it. Like Zati said, you take calculative risk not simply "You jump, I jump" Dicaprio style.

A lot of times during my traveling solo, I depend on my gut,hunch,6th sense,psychic..whatever you call it. But what I really want to make a point home is that..please use your COMMON SENSE, that 7 inches between your two ears aka your brain. ^__^ You gonna be safe if not the other way round.

I'm not gonna say that there isn't any risk. There IS risk! We encounter risk anywhere, everywhere and anytime. We just don't realize it.. yet. Hehehe. But traveling solo has been always a SWEET risk. Only those who experienced it will know that gushy mushy feeling. Shweeeet..

I'm way out of topic! Sorry guys, that's why I always got whacked by my language teacher while doing essay. I always get to pluto and refused to return. Hehe..

Solo almost..almost feel like FREEDOM. You determine all decision by yourself. There's no one to bicker backer with, no one to nag at you when you are in "I told you so" situation and all the TIME is yours to enjoy and get pampered.

Get the xyz of my point? FREEDOM = TIME = no one nagging at you.

Wow..another Nobel prize for creating another silly formula!
